TURKEY SEASON 2

It's been a tradition to always hunt opening day of Spring Turkey season in Virginia with my dad on his private farm. Year after year, turkeys always seemed to never cooperate on opening day, but the results were a bit different in 2021. The gobblers were fired up at sunrise, and we were in the perfect spot to catch them off the roost.

After an unsuccessful first sit of the morning, we were able to reposition on another end of the property and strike up a late-morning gobbler that reads the script just right.

For years, we've hunted one of the best farms in our region for turkeys, but one end of the farm never had produced much turkey activity. After a close call at daylight, we were able to capitalize on a second opportunity with the same bird with some unexpected help! Stick it out until he leaves his hens, because that's when the heat turns up.

After hunting some of our other farms during the early part of season, we decided to try our luck at another one of our spots we call the River farm. We didn't hear a single gobble at daylight, but to our surprise, a big boy was about to pitch into the field with us 150 yards away. The question is - Will he close the distance and pose an opportunity?

In the final video for the season, Evan and Ethan try their luck during mid-season at the river farm. After a couple weeks of no luck and not much gobbling, their confidence changed after a good trail camera card pull, with anticipation of a quick hunt Tuesday morning.
